Michael Montondon - Founder & CEO

A seasoned traveler, sailor, and guide he draws inspiration from the beauty of nature
and is driven by a deep concern for the massive amounts of plastic waste generated by
various industries. His journey to create Bags Into Beds began on the floor of his Los
Angeles apartment, where he was inspired by a chance encounter during his travels
through rural Mexico. Witnessing a community using plastic bags to stuff rudimentary
mattresses ignited his mission to turn plastic waste into supportive items for individuals
experiencing homelessness. Michael's vision extends beyond Los Angeles; he aspires
to expand the organization's reach to combat plastic pollution across the United States
and beyond.
